Giving in the context of the The Kingdom

Abundant Lifesermons

The devil is not concerned about deceiving you about God, but he is interested in deceiving you about yourself

5 They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.
6 I said, “You are gods,[a] And all of you are children of the Most High. Darkness is a lack of knowledge, the devil rules by ignorance.
Psalms 82: 5-6

The Kingdom, discovering who you are

In Genesis 3:5 the devil says “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God”
Yet they were already like God, created in his image.
There’s only one source I trust in defining me and it is because he created me. Lets look at what God says in Genesis 1:26, God calls you out of himself for you to rule as he does,to be able to accomplish his command to dominate.

In Psalms 82: 5 the word “Darkness” symbolises a lack of knowledge (we can also say ignorance), the devil rules by ignorance.

Jesus says you who are in the kingdom are greater than John the baptist –Matthew 11:11

Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”‘?-John 10:34

Religion teaches us something verry different from the words Jesus himself spoke. Because religion relies so much on controlling people, when you get knowledge of who you truly are it would stone you. But Jesus is not the king of slaves he is more concerned of liberating you. Look at how he deals with the woman who was caught in the act of adultery (where was the man here?)

Jesus is not the king of slaves

” He loved us while we were still sinners,.. nothing can separate us from the love of God..”

Understanding our identity in God through Jesus Christ and his kingdom, helps us to give from a position of humility and worship.

Talking about giving in the context of the kingdom, wherein God has granted every good and perfect gift through
Jesus Christ. We give because he is Lord (owner, as in landlord -> land owner) Lordship also explains praise and worship, if I give you a thousand rand your natural response would be to say “thank you” and if I give you another you would I aging say thank you, and upon receiving another you would still be grateful.

Because everything belongs to God according to Psalms 24:1,2 even the very oxygen you breath, giving and thanksgiving become a natural response, you start giving out of gratitude not fear.

There is not a single thing God created that does not give, if it stops giving it dies. The creation that gives attracts life

The dead sea is one such river, it receives from the sea of Galilee (which is teaming with life) yet does not itself release all that it receives in the result it has been slowly dying for years and has no life in it.
God does not speak of giving as an option, but a command. The owner has given a command

Proverbs 11:24 One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

You are a parasite if you have the audacity to not give what belongs to God, like the dead sea if you do not give you are destroying yourself

If you care for others, you give and God will trust you with more. Lets imagine I have five children, and I leave for a few days maybe weeks, I give them the same amount to last them my absence and four of the children squander their money then there’s one who decides “let me share what I have with my siblings…” when I come back and find out about the four And the one, next time I leave who do you think I will trust with my money?

Never give from a position of lack but from one of abundance because you are in a Kingdom of abundance.
